The main question that many of you should keep asking is, “What makes Exupéry International School so special?” If you asked me to give the answer in five words or less, I would offer the following points: unique curricula and educational programmes, comprehensive cultural education, and excellent teachers.
What makes the Exupéry curriculum unique? We aim to find a balance between IB principles (which is an international system) and the Latvian national curriculum, which is a state-mandated programme. Our students acquire four languages in a natural environment.
Most of the subjects we teach have strong parallels to, or are modelled after, the national curriculum (the fields being languages, science and technology, human and society, and art). In this manner, we retain the value and core content of academic education. Most subjects are taught in English through interactivity. Several crucial subjects are taught in Latvian and Russian. All students learn French as one of the compulsory subjects. We strive to develop students’ talents, and offer a variety of Exupéry extra courses to achieve this. The added value of the Exupéry educational program is SAM (Sports, Arts, and Music).
We believe that these aspects aid in cultivating a comprehensive personality that acquires knowledge through research, observation, inspiration, and beauty. We offer our students the chance to take part in diverse sport lessons, such as fencing, table tennis, and chess. Art lessons at Exupéry are organized by professional artists, and even a sculptor. We draw special attention to music in our school — learning to play musical instruments, singing, choir ensemble, music theory, and international exams.

We use a variety of teaching books and interactive materials, including local and international publishers. Our teachers are also preparing authorized materials, which will help to develop students’ individual skills.
Record books provide inner motivation. Students set their own goals, and their activities are integrated in the record book.
