Exupery International School got another prize for its new building - boarding and high school on an annual competition organized by the Building Design and Construction Council under the patronage of the Latvian Ministry of Economy. A brainchild of a famous Latvian architect Juris Lasis – has been highly evaluated by the jury and become a prize-awarded in nomination of the most sustainable building in 2021 Latvia.
The ceremony took place on September 6, and was conducted to honor architects and designers whose talent, vision and commitment produce consistent and significant contribution to architecture of Latvia. The new building places an emphasis on wood as a sustainable and renewable resource. Load-bearing structure - mostly consisting of CLT glued wood panels for walls and ceilings, as well as GLULAM wood-glued columns and beams – pays respect to traditions and ecology.
