Exupery International School (EIS) received the accreditation by the International Baccalaureate Organization for high schools: the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IB DP).
This official title once again confirms the compliance of EIS with international educational standards, complementing the previously obtained accreditations by the Latvian Ministry of Education, the International Baccalaureate Organization and the Cambridge International Examinations. Now, EIS students can choose which program they want to study within the high school: IB DP or A-Levels.
The IB DP is a complete, international, secondary education program that prepares students to enter the world's leading universities. Students in grades 11 and 12 choose six subjects: three at the “higher level” and three at the “standard level”. Over the course of two years, students complete assignments of different types and research work, as well as pass exams in each of their chosen subjects.
“We give the students freedom of choice so that they may independently determine the educational program which suits them best. The IB focuses not only on subject specific knowledge, but also on personal growth in general. Furthermore, this program helps many of our senior students to clearly understand which universities they want to apply to, and in which direction to go, - said the director of the school Dmitry Vinogradov. “In our school, pupils may study in any of our modalities: as part of our day program, as well as part of the boarding program.”
EIS just launched a program of educational grants in March. According to the conditions, 10 scholarships will be provided to students from Latvia and other countries, to study within the IB DP and A-Levels international programs, choosing between the accommodation at the EIS boarding house, or the daytime attendance of classes.
Exupery International School, founded in 2016, is the first and only international boarding school in the Baltic States.
Exupery International School is a member of IB World Schools and the Council of International Schools (CIS). It offers educational programs for children aged 2.5 all the way to teens of the age of 18. The advantage for the older students in grades 10, 11 and 12 of this school is the possibility to choose between the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IB DP) and Advanced Levels (A-levels). The learning process of both programs is structured in such a way that guarantees students essential academic skills and a high level of knowledge.
