Candidate’s skills and qualifications
Bachelor or Master’s degree in education, middle years English language and Literature teacher’s qualification;
Two and more year-experience at an international school, working full-time as a middle years teacher;
Fluent / Native English speaker;
Experience in curriculum development (Understanding by Design framework – UBD);
Able to ensure clear and worthwhile performance outcomes in the project-based classroom.
Experience working in the context where students acquire the curriculum in English, having a different mother tongue.
PYP/MYP/DP training is considered as an advantage.
Main duties and responsibilities:
English language and Literature teacher in Grades 6-9;
Homeroom teacher in middle school;
Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests;
Ability and qualifications to teach other subjects (e.g. social studies or geography will be considered an advantage);
To ensure students’ formative and summative assessment, develop assessment rubrics and ensure students continuous evaluation;
Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate these objectives to students;
Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate;
Observe and evaluate students' performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
