Engineering Physics is the in-depth curriculum extension that both complements IB and goes way beyond. It is addressed to the students who feel accomplished crunching numbers, who find inspiring tackling laws of nature, who express interest to apply their skill practically, not only solving endless problems, yet actually researching, designing and making things that move, fly, assist, connect, protect and inform.
The major course features are:
- CalculusCalculus - the branch of Math that covers limits, differentiation, integration and related equations. That is an essential tool for understanding and describing processes in Physics.
- Technical drawingTechnical drawing - the synthesis of geometry and design, that gives basis of presenting plain and stereometrical objects on paper and at computer screen. It is also the keystone of engineering literacy for mechanical engineering, medical engineering, architecture. Major adjustment to classical course is its focus on the technology of prototyping using milling machines and additive printing.
- Electronics and sensorsElectronics and sensors - the practical strand which is based on IB Physics topics involving designing circuits and printed circuit boards, soldering, testing
and integration with microcontoller-based equipment for both producing standalone items of hardware and inventing aid tools for experimental sciences. - Airspace-related unitsAirspace-related units that showcase aviation and satellite tech. It may be an entry point for students who thing of possible career of a pilot or those who are looking their way to rocket science.
- Practice in the laboratories of the universitiesCollaboration with Latvia’s leading technical research centers - in addition to using our own state of the art labs, students will be able to visit and use other facilities, e.g. Riga Technical University and other non-academic partners.

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in English
The IB DP (International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme) is a high-quality two-year IB course offered to students aged 16 to 19 from all over the world. The IB DP aims to develop students physically, intellectually, emotionally and ethically and it culminates in the award of a globally recognized diploma.- Assistance in preparation for international competitionsEIS is ranked eighth out of 47 other schools in Latvia (according to Atis Kronvalds Fund Latvian School Ranking) and is known for the active participation of its students in Science Olympiads at national and international levels. We help our students prepare for the competitions and develop their scientific curiosity.
- University guidance in choosing College destinationThe EIS Career Guidance Team provides support throughout the university application process and helps to choose the best universities for the next step in students' careers.
