Theory of Knowledge: Interdisciplinary Approaches to Ethical AI Development

As part of Theory of Knowledge (or TOK), part of the compulsory IB core, Grade 11 students explored how knowledge is gained and produced in different areas of knowledge, with a focus on the ethical considerations related to AI.

The discussion highlighted the fact that for us to create AI systems that are ethical, while enabling technological advances, an interdisciplinary approach, combining knowledge from various fields such as Philosophy, the Arts, and Computer Science is preferable to adding constraints to AI development.
